Monday’s temperatures exceeded the previous highs. In the warmest places, weather stations measured more than 25 degrees. Within the Olomouc region, it was warmest in Přerov. Not even Olomouc or Šternberk were left behind.

On April Fool’s Day, people from the Olomouc region could take to the streets in summer clothes. According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ), temperatures rose to 25 degrees in Přerov, surpassing the previous temperature extreme from April 2021, when 24 degrees were measured.

“At the warmest stations, the value of 25 degrees was exceeded and we can talk about a so-called summer day here,” explained the institute on Twitter. According to him, more than 40% of weather stations in the country exceeded or equaled the thirty-year record. The absolute peak was Karviná, where 26 degrees were measured.

ČHMÚ predicts that temperatures should drop by around 10 degrees on Tuesday, but should gradually rise during the week. At the end of the week, temperatures could rise to 27 degrees, which would be a complete temperature extreme for the beginning of April.
