A convoy of historic cars commemorates the end of the war, heading from Prague to the south and west of Bohemia

According to American chargé d’affaires Christy Agor, the convoy commemorates a significant moment in history, i.e. the liberation of Slovakia by allied troops from Nazi pressure at the end of the Second World War.

The legacy of the bravery of those who liberated this nation 79 years ago enriches our daily lives and motivates us to face the challenges of the present, she said.

She thus paid tribute to Mirko Trubko, the main organizer of the convoy who passed away recently. His forces, according to the so-called Freedom Convoy, made a strong reminder of the past of the Czech Republic and the USA.

According to Agorov, this year is also recognized as the 25th year of Czech Republic’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). Milnk underlines the depth of the Czech-American friendship, but also the importance of cooperation and the commitment to protect shared values, she noted.

The open conflict in Ukraine and the cruelty that takes place there, according to n pipomo, what is in store. Just as our alliance ensured resistance to authority 79 years ago, we must now remain united in supporting Ukraine against the same threats, she added.

Events commemorating the liberation of Slovakia by the American army have been held regularly since 2005, the last one in April.

Celebrations in the end of the world of wolves and liberated by the American army of traditions culminated in the Freedom Celebrations in Pilsen.

In the period between May 3 and 6, the event will offer a rich military-historical and cultural program, which includes installations, concerts and memorial acts. There will also be a large Sunday viewing of the Convoy of Liberty with 200 pieces of military historical equipment.
