/PHOTO/ They have been playing for fun for a good ten years, and they were rewarded with a prize from the Czech Radio Hit Parade. This is how we can present the music group BaR Band, which was founded in 2014 in the mountain town of Vejprty.

The band is made up of experienced musicians from Vejprt and the surrounding area, who already played or still play in bands at balls and parties with cover songs. Since this was no longer fulfilling for most of the members, they decided to found the group BaR Band, in which they can present their own creations. Roman Stadler, who was an active member of the band at the time (guitar, vocals), came up with the original idea to found the BaR Band. Later, he was replaced by the current singer Ruda Zapp, who – although he was a complete beginner, proved that he is the right person for the band with his first performance at the Vejprtská puti in 2015.
Another of the founding members of the band was Josef Šenkypl (bass guitar), today he is no longer a member of the band and was replaced by Ivan Pop. The other founding members are Zdeněk Raztočný (electric guitar), Radek Koželuh (drums) and Jarda Gavdun (guitar, vocals), the author of the music and lyrics with which the group performs publicly.
The group is supported by large groups of fans who travel around the area to see them. They also found great support in Irena Štorková from České Hamry. “It’s an ensemble that deserves a lot of thanks. The guys are all active, they plan something with each other, they come up with ideas in order to work on the final form of the songs. Sometimes it’s even about minor disputes, but always some great piece of music comes to light. After all, the nice award from the Golden Czech Dozen competition, which highlights talents in the hit parade of Czech Radio, indicates a lot,” says the group’s manager, Irena Štorková, proudly and with a smile.
In the ten years of its existence, the band released its own CD “Krásné hlouposti” and also shot two video clips. It was the beautiful nonsense that made it to the top of the charts. But the list of plans does not end there, a new CD with other clips should be released in 2025. The BaR band is still welcome everywhere and wants to continue performing its original music in music clubs, ideally focused on blues and rock, or at city and municipal events and music festivals.
