Officers arrived at the scene. “It was about forty pieces of fish,” city police director Pavel Bakule told Deník on Monday. Summoned representatives of the local organization of the fishermen’s union caught the fish and took them away. According to them, the death occurred from lack of oxygen in the water. The environment department of the municipality was informed about the situation. It is not yet known when new fish will be released into the lake.
In 2009 and 2010, the city parks underwent revitalization for almost 83 million crowns, most of which was paid for by the European Union. The goal was to improve the background and greenery and create a more attractive space for the public. In addition to the pond, fountains, paths and furniture, the project included, for example, new game elements, the reconstruction of the “Mushle” concert pavilion and toilets.
