Jamiroquai will dance Metronome Prague 2023!

--

A stellar summer awaits Prague. A number of international groups and performers of various genres are heading to the traditional open air Metronome Prague, promising breathtaking musical experiences. Jamiroquai will perform their spectacular musical show on the main stage and celebrate 30 years of existence. They will perform at the festival alongside music stars such as M83, Aurora, Moderat, Editors or White Lies and 40 others.

“The entire Metronome Prague team is happy that after all the improvisations in the last three years, we can once again offer the audience a program full of great names. Thank you to everyone who buys tickets in advance and I would like to point out that the currently best priced edition of three-day tickets will soon sell out. In the next edition, 6,000 pieces are ready, but at a higher price. We are looking forward to the musical experiences that we will all enjoy together next year,” says promoter David Gaydečka.

The British multi-genre formation Jamiroquai was formed in 1992. Jay and his band started their career very promisingly and became one of the most original groups of the early 90s. Its founder and frontman is the singer and songwriter Jay Kay, whose real name is Jason Luis Cheetham, who was born on December 30, 1969 in Stretford, England.

The group emerged from London’s acid jazz underground and has released eight studio albums during their tenure, which have sold over 26 million worldwide. The highly successful group, which combines acid jazz, funk, soul and disco in an original way, made its way into the British Top 10 chart seven times during its existence, and with three albums reached its very top. Jamiroquai have also won a Grammy Award, been nominated for a Brit Award, and even hold a Guinness World Record for best-selling funk album of all time.

Already with their debut “Emergency on Planet Earth” in 1993, Jamiroquai created a new genre of music that influenced a whole host of other musicians and artists. In the following years, the group released seven more albums: “The Return of the Space Cowboy” (1994), “Travelling Without Moving” (1997), “Synkronized” (1999), “A Funk Odyssey” (2001), “Dynamite” ( 2005), “High Times: Singles 1992-2006” (2006), “Rock Dust Light Star” (2010) and most recently “Automaton” (2017).

The name of the group was born from the combination of the name of the Iroquois tribe and the multi-meaning word “jam”. This is how the Jamiroquai, the jamming Iroquois, who follow the Indian natural philosophy of “orenda” were born. The name is used both to refer to the entire band and to Jay Kay himself.

Experience Jamiroquai’s spectacular live show full of captivating jazz, funk and disco rhythms in the open air right in the center of Prague on the main stage of Metronome Prague 2023.

Metronome Prague 2023 continues in full force and with determination to confirm its position as the most important musical and artistic event in Prague, with the help of 8 separate stages with more than 50 musical projects numbering over 300 artists who will perform on them. Every visitor, regardless of age, will find something for themselves in the genre-rich music program full of famous names from both the world and domestic origins.

For the sixth time, Metronome Prague will be held in the Výstaviště Praha area, i.e. right in the center of the capital. And that is truly exceptional for an event of this size. The exclusive program is far from all that it offers – unprecedented comfort, plenty of seating, chill-out zones or rich gastronomy enhance the overall experience and contribute to the maximum satisfaction of visitors.
