We are already used to numbers on modern smartphones, but only Nothing uses brackets in its models. In addition to the name, the back of the new product attracts even more attention. Nothing traditionally integrates some components into the external design of the back. Thanks to this, the device has a very unsophisticated impression.

The dominant feature of the back is the dual camera, which makes the phone look like it has eyes. Unlike its predecessors, it is not located at one of the sides, but directly in the middle. Thanks to the new location of the camera, it will be less likely to cover the lenses with your fingers when taking pictures.

The other elements are arranged on the back side using a circular grid system. This extends to the edges of the phone, creating more rounded corners that now have a larger radius. Overall, the device has a more complete and delicate impression.

For the first time ever in the history of the Nothing company, the Phone (2a) brings a unibody construction, the sides of which wrap around the body at an angle of 90 °. This should make the whole device more sturdy and resistant to falling.

Given that it is a mid-range phone, the offered equipment also makes an interesting impression. The heart of the new product is the Dimensity 7200 Pro processor from Mediatek. It is built on 4nm technology and has enough performance even for playing games. The octa-core chip can run at a frequency of up to 2.8 GHz. In practice, Phone (2a) thus has 13% higher performance and 16% better efficiency than the original Phone (1).

The battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh should offer up to two days of endurance. At the same time, the manufacturer promises that even after three years of daily use, the battery will retain more than 90% of its capacity, which unfortunately is not at all standard for cheap smartphones.

There is also fast 45W charging, thanks to which the phone can be charged to 50% capacity in just 20 minutes.

The display offers a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a fast refresh rate of 120 Hz, which is especially useful when playing games. The thin frames around the touch surface also deserve to be highlighted, they are only 2.1 mm in all directions. The ratio of the display to the body of the phone is thus an excellent 91.65%.

On the back, there is a pair of 50-megapixel cameras that boast a whole range of advanced algorithms for better quality snapshots. For example, we are talking about Ultra XDR technology, which ensures a more accurate representation of light and shadows in each image. Ultra XDR works by capturing 8 images at different exposure levels in RAW format and then adjusting the brightness of each pixel up to five times for the most faithful result. The front camera offers a resolution of 32 MPx.

Phone (2a) is based on the Android 14 operating system with the Nothing OS 2.5 graphic superstructure, thanks to which the manufacturer modified the user environment in its own image. In practice, the phone works very quickly and without any delays. The manufacturer promises three-year support for major system updates and four-year support for quarterly security updates.

Nothing Phone (2a) is already available in domestic stores in black and white, in 8 GB/128 GB or 12 GB/256 GB versions. The first digit always indicates the capacity of the operating memory, the second the storage size. The model with a smaller memory will cost 7,999 CZK, for a larger one, prospective buyers will pay 8,999 CZK.
