The Palestinian movement Hamas said today it received Israel’s official response to its position regarding the end of the war in the Gaza Strip. He will give his reaction after studying it, the representative of the movement, Khalil Hajja, said in a statement, according to Reuters.

“Today, Hamas received an official response from the Zionist occupiers to their position, which was communicated to the Egyptian and Qatari negotiators on April 13. The movement will study this response and then pass on its response,” Khalil Hajji’s statement reads.

In an April 13 communique, according to AFP, Hamas reiterated its demands, including a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the entire Gaza Strip, the return of displaced Palestinians to the areas where they lived and an increase in humanitarian aid. However, Israel rejects Hamas’ key demands.

An Egyptian delegation arrived in Israel on Friday in an effort to resume negotiations to end the war in the Gaza Strip and release the remaining Israeli hostages held by Hamas since the October 7 terrorist attack on southern Israel. According to American media, Israel is willing to give one last chance to reach an agreement. If that doesn’t happen, Israel will attack Rafah, which it considers the last bastion of Hamas.
