Like a fart in Stromovka. Fico mocks the solidarity of Slovaks with Ukraine

--

In an interview with Joj24 TV, Fico said that nothing prevents people from doing what they want with their money, but added that the United States has approved $60 billion in aid to Ukraine and the European Union has approved 100 billion euros.

“Nothing will change in Ukraine and it will be the same in a year or two. All the money will be spent, some of it may be stolen, but nothing will change in Ukraine and we will be where we are now,” he stated, adding that people should rather collect for cancer patients in Slovakia than for bullets and bombs.

The opposite of the government

Behind the collection of ammunition for Ukraine, Fico sees only a huge effort to make “some counterpoise to the government”, because the Slovak government refuses to supply arms to Ukraine. “But we really help Ukraine,” said Fico, recalling several agreements in the economic and humanitarian fields between Slovakia and Ukraine.

“I will still favor a peaceful solution and a ceasefire at any cost,” Fico added.

The collection of the citizens’ initiative Peace of Ukraine on the website municiapreukrajinu.sk has been going on for 13 days and over 61 thousand donors have participated in it. With this event, the activists are responding to the initiative of the Czech government, in which over twenty countries have participated. Already today, the Slovaks sent more funds for ammunition for Ukraine than Slovenia and Iceland from their state budget.

The organizers called their event “If not the government, we send”, because Prime Minister Fico’s cabinet does not intend to participate in the Czech program.

The Slovaks have already collected over three million euros for ammunition for Ukraine
