Despite a lightning turnaround, Bayern only drew 2-2 in their home Champions League semi-final clash with Real Madrid. As in the previous phase against Manchester City, the White Ballet had to resist the onslaught of the opponent, but they showed great productivity twice. In the first half, Vinícius Júnior got his way thanks to a perfect pass from former Bavarian player Toni Kroos, who showed strong nerves even after the change of sides, when he responded to Harry Kane’s penalty kick with an accurate shot from the penalty spot. Experienced coach Carlo Ancelotti did not leave defeated even in the ninth confrontation against the Munich giants.

The atmosphere in Bayern, despite the unexpected progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League, could be cut. Outgoing coach Thomas Tuchel objected to the words of boss Uli Hoeness, who described him as incapable of working with young players. This insulted the former PSG or Chelsea coach’s managerial honor and his future should not have been changed even by fan petitions. On the other hand, Real did well on all fronts, and in the winning league duel in San Sebastián, a number of supporters rested.

However, there were no signs of controversy among the players of the Bavarian team. The home team, on the other hand, flew at their opponent and the club from the capital of Spain could be happy that after the first ten minutes the scoreboard showed a draw. Andrij Lunin had to show his skill against the attempts of Leroy Sané and Kane, while another finish only narrowly missed the goal structure. However, the White Ballet was able to withstand the overwhelming initial pressure and turned its first chance into a precise shot. Kroos sent a great pass behind the defense in the 24th minute, which Vinícius Júnior got to and finished uncompromisingly to the right post.

After the change of sides, Die Roten continued their activity, but the burning of chances did not repeat itself. In the 53rd minute, Sané took over the ball on the sideline, who moved to the opposite wing compared to the first half, took it to the corner of the penalty area and fired an elusive shot at the near post. Minutes later, the fans at the Allianz Arena erupted in even more joy after the referee awarded the home team a penalty kick following a foul on Jamal Musial. The execution was taken by Kane, who sent Lunin to the other side and easily headed into the open left part of the goal. A similar situation was repeated on the other side of the field in the 83rd minute, when Min-Jae Kim was awarded a yellow card after a foul on Rodrygo. Vinícius Júnior placed the ball on the white dot, waited for Manuel Neuer’s movement and with a shot in the middle arranged the score.

Real Madrid thus drew in the millionaire competition after 90 minutes in the fourth match in a row. The rematch is scheduled for May 8.
