The ANO movement would win the parliamentary elections in April with 32.5 percent, the second ODS would have 13 percent, the SPD and the Pirates would each get ten percent, and the STAN movement would get eight percent of the vote. Other political parties and groupings would not make it to the House of Representatives, they have the support of less than five percent. This follows from the election model published by the Median agency on its website on Thursday. Compared to March, only the STAN movement strengthened from the government parties, the opposition SPD improved significantly. Willingness to participate in the elections increased slightly, 64.5 percent of voters would go to the polls in April.

“The weakening of the governing parties can be explained, among other things, by the fact that a non-negligible part of their former voters is now undecided about who to vote for. ANO and the SPD, on the other hand, are consolidating their supporter bases,” the authors of the survey said.

The preferences of the ANO opposition movement have been above 30 percent for a long time. Compared to March, the party improved by half a percentage point. The governing ODS and the Pirates, on the other hand, lost one percentage point and the Pirates lost half a percentage point. Conversely, the SPD gained three percentage points and the STAN movement gained two percentage points compared to March.

Among the parties outside the Chamber of Deputies, SOCDEM would have the highest preference in April, receiving 4.5 percent of the vote. Then TOP 09, KSČM and KDU-ČSL follow with 3.5 percent. The PRO 2022 movement would get three percent, the Oath and Greens would get 2.5 percent each, and the Tricolor 1.5 percent. “March’s increase in support for smaller parties was not confirmed, but they strengthened compared to previous months. The April model, on the other hand, confirmed the loss of support for TOP 09,” Median said.

The parties of the current government coalition (ODS + TOP 09 + KDU-ČSL + STAN + Pirates) have the support of 38 percent of potential voters. Without forming pre-election coalitions, they would have won 84 parliamentary seats. The ANO movement would win 89 parliamentary mandates in the hypothetical elections for the month of April.

Median polled 1,003 people aged 18 and over between April 5 and 25. The statistical error is half a percentage point for smaller parties and up to 3.5 percentage points for the strongest parties.
