Sony has abandoned the elongated display with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and will go for a smaller aspect ratio, like the competition, for example the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, i.e. 19.5:9. Although the elongated display is suitable for watching a movie, which in cinemas have such an aspect ratio, the new display is able to accommodate the dimensions of the smartphone. That should suit most cases.
In the end, the smartphone with a 6.5-inch display will not have dimensions that differ from its predecessor. Despite the large differences in dimensions, these days are the enduring specialty of Sony, which today is considered archaic. Above and below the display there will be quite a large strip, where the front camera will also be located in the upper part. It still won’t find a place in the display ring.
The resolution will also change with the display, it will not have a 4K resolution, but only 2K. Until now, the ultra-high resolution display was only available for photos and videos, otherwise it was no resolution. The new display would thus have to consume a lot of energy.
That’s good. The new Sony will have a triple camera that will keep its own button for communication on the side of the phone. The preservation of the jack connector for connected headphones is also a good start.
The previous Xperia 1 V model was introduced last May. Therefore, the news should be presented before long. The fact that it fits into the average, I don’t have to be on the code, because the specific elements of the predecessors were not found by many fans.
