Kiev said it was doing so in response to the essentially daily bombing of Ukrainian cities by Russian forces. However, Ukrainian drones often fly hundreds of kilometers away from the border and sometimes appear near the Russian capital.

According to Sobyanin, the last drone so far was destroyed in the Podolsk region south of Moscow.

However, more frequent than attacks on the Russian capital are attempts to hit oil refineries and other oil infrastructure, the frequency of which Ukraine has intensified in recent months.

A drone strike caused a brief fire in the Kaluga region south of Moscow. According to the local governor, Vladislav Šapši, there were no casualties, the exact damage has not been calculated.

According to Kiev, Russia unsuccessfully launched five drones and two anti-aircraft guided missiles.
