The new BMW M2 should be presented to the world in a few days, the premiere is reportedly scheduled for October 12. Thanks to leaked photos, however, we can see the car now.

Images of the revealed car with light blue paint, which appears to be BMW Individual’s Zandvoort Blue, have surfaced on Bimmerpost.com. And the pictures are interesting, especially thanks to the view of the back. These are extremely interesting.

The G87 generation BMW M2 will apparently offer an unusually shaped rear bumper with strange elements on the sides that look a bit like pillars. They also have reflectors. We can also notice the diffuser and the four round exhaust tips.

However, the front bumper is also significantly shaped with large openings on the sides and an interesting part under the license plate. The kidneys are also special – this time they are relatively compact, but they have received horizontal ribbing. A look at the sides reveals more muscular hips.

The new BMW M2 will probably be the last “emk” with a combustion engine without any electrical assistance. Under the hood, we expect a three-liter six-cylinder S58 turbocharged with two turbochargers, the output should be around 450 horsepower. There will be a choice between a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission.

There is an unclear situation regarding the rear wheel drive. This could be standard, but there are also speculations about the use of the M xDrive four-wheel drive from larger “emka” models. This all-wheel drive can also function as a pure rear-wheel drive. So we’ll see.

The BMW M2 in the G87 generation will go into production at the San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico later this year. The first pieces will arrive at dealers in the spring of 2023.
