“The dates of the semi-finals and final of the MOL Cup will depend on the result of the postponed quarter-final between Jablonec and Plzeň and possibly also on the success of Viktoria Plzeň in the European Conference League,” explained the association’s spokesperson Petr Šedivý.

The fog made a mess of the cup program, which at the end of February ruined the quarter-final between home team Jablonec and guests from Pilsen. The last match for advancement among the top quartet takes place on Tuesday from 18.00.
At the same time, the week after Easter should have belonged to the semi-final duels. But while the second division Opava will welcome the league leader from Sparta on Wednesday, Zlín will only learn the name of their opponent on Tuesday in Jablonec.
If the hosts advance, the second semi-final will be played in the coming weeks and the final will take place on April 24 as originally planned.
But if the favored Pilsen wins on Tuesday, the plan will get complicated again.
Victoria face Conference League quarter-finals against Fiorentina on April 9 and 16, meaning the remaining semi-finals have yet to be played before the expected MOL Cup final.
The final would therefore have to be played in May at the earliest.
But there is another but…
Although Viktoria will be a clear outsider, it cannot be ruled out that she will progress through Fiorentina. The possible semi-finals of the Conference League would be played on May 2 and 9, and the third round of the league extension for the title is planned for Wednesday, May 15.
The winner of the domestic cup would not be known until the working week between May 21 and 23, which is almost two months from today.
That is why the result of the quarter-final playoff is enormously important for the development of the MOL Cup.
This will not only interest the fans of Jablonec and Pilsen, but also the remaining participants and the creators of the final timetable.
