The coach of the Austrian national team, Ralf Rangnick, confirmed on Wednesday that he has been contacted by Bayern Munich, who are looking for a successor to the departing Thomas Tuchel. Rangnick said he is not currently addressing Bayern’s potential interest and is solely focused on Euro 2024, which starts in June in Germany.

“There was contact from Bayern Munich and I informed the Austrian Football Association,” Rangnick told Austrian website 90 Minuten. “We have a very close relationship. I am concentrating on the Austrian national team. We are fully focused on the European Championship. I feel very good here. At the moment there is no reason to deal intensively with it,” he explained.

Bayern, who won the previous 11 league titles, lost the Meisterschale this season when Bayer Leverkusen secured their first ever league primacy five rounds before the end of the season.
