Balance of the dreams of the Czech tennis hope: Chances of the opponents? Sixteen percent

--

Nineteen-year-old Jakub Nicod started this season as the 534th player in the world. Currently, you can find his name on the 327th place, and among tennis players under the age of twenty, he belongs to the thirteenth place.

Although he is far from competing with the world elite, with whom his peer Jakub Menšík successfully competes, his record this year is fantastic. So far this year, he has participated in nine ITF tournaments or challengers, and he did not find a winner in four of them.

During these four triumphs, he dominated a total of twenty matches in which he lost only two sets, the last time Nicod triumphed in March in Trnava, where he outclassed his French opponent 6:3, 6:1 in the final.

Jakub Nicod is having a great season

“I have the opportunity to train with excellent coaches who have placed themselves high in the world rankings, such as Jan Kodeš,” says the promising tennis player, who can be proud of the title of vice-champion of the world in the team competition under 14 years old or European champion under 16 years old.

Moreover, Nicod’s last defeat was born out of bad luck, when he had to give up the round of 16 duel at the ongoing challenger in Ostrava at a score of 6:7 and 1:2.
