WC hockey | Slovakia announces another reinforcement from the NHL before the World Cup

--

The 24-year-old Fehérváry will appear at the World Cup for the fourth time and build on the starts from 2018, 2019 and 2022. In this NHL season, he scored three goals and 13 assists in 66 games of the regular season. In four duels of the unsuccessful playoff series with the New York Rangers, he recorded two goals and an assist.

Fehérváry was drafted 46th overall by the Capitals in the second round in 2018. In four seasons in the NHL, he played 218 games and collected 50 points for 17 goals and 33 assists. He played in 12 games in the playoffs and scored for the first time this year.

Two-time Stanley Cup winner Černák, who triumphed with Tampa Bay in 2020 and 2021 and played in the final again the following year, will not add a second participation in the World Cup. So far, he has only competed in 2019 at the domestic championships in Košice and Bratislava.

Defenseman Šimon Nemec from New Jersey and forwards Juraj Slafkovský from Montreal, Martin Pospíšil from Calgary, Tomáš Tatar from Seattle and Pavol Regenda from Anaheim, who spent most of the season on the farm in San Diego in the AHL, have already confirmed their participation in the WC in the Czech Republic.

The Slovaks will present themselves in the basic group B in Ostrava, which they will enter on Friday, May 10, with a match against Germany. Kazakhstan, the United States of America, Poland, France, Latvia and Sweden await them in other duels.
