Canada’s ice hockey players will also be strengthened by forward Pierre-Luc Dubois at the upcoming world championship in the Czech Republic, for whom it will be the fourth WC in the last seven seasons.

The 25-year-old attacker completed the previously announced twenty-two-member nomination, which includes, among others, the eighteen-year-old megastar Connor Bedard from Chicago or the expected number one pick of this year’s draft, Macklin Celebrini, who is a year younger.

After moving from Winnipeg to Los Angeles, Pierre-Luc Dubois has one of the worst seasons in the NHL in terms of points. In 82 duels of the long-term part, he collected 40 points (16+24), in five playoff games he added a single shot in the black.

The third player in the 2016 draft and a participant in the 2018, 2019 and 2022 World Cups, where he won two silver medals, believes that he will lift his spirits in Prague and tune in for the next year – he is signed with the Kings until 2031.

The Maple Leafs have completed a preliminary match in Austria, where they won 5:1. They will face Hungary on Tuesday evening and kick off the tournament on Saturday against Great Britain.
