Martin Nečas had a huge crowd last night on Wednesday. Thanks to his quick reflexes, he narrowly avoided a liquidation procedure in a fraction of a second, which could easily have ended his career. After some time, Jacob Trouba again reached for exemplary filth and tried to hit the Carolina Hurricanes forward with an elbow in the head. In the past, he has already hit several fighters like this, the media even gave him the nickname “Captain Elbow.”
When Pete Blackburn, a hockey commentator with 147 thousand followers on the social network X, saw the dangerous escapade of the New York leader, he typed: “I have yet to see a maneuver in which a player almost killed an opponent twice and on top of that once himself. But I am not surprised that he is in the main the role of the Oven.”
Yes, the assertive American has a reputation as an insidious player who threatens the health of other “traffic participants” on the ice surface. He usually attacks with an elbow, preferably to the opponent’s head.
“When he sees her unguarded, his elbow starts roaring at him like the Green Goblin mask at Harry Osborne,” joked the quirky glossary of events in the NHL with the nickname noah hockey stick emoji, comparing it to the comic book saga of Spider-Man.
Trouba did not comment on his move, preferring to talk to reporters about the overtime win. But his repeatedly risky actions on the ice cannot be ignored, the hockey public is rebelling against him, on social networks someone is blaming him and talking about the fact that he could have crippled Nečas. Nečas was not the first Czech to be threatened by an elbow in the playoffs, a few seasons ago Ondřej Palát escaped Troub’s attack at the last moment, then still in the colors of the Tampa Lightning.
