“The sporty text encourages the members of our national team,” commented Maťo Ďurinda, the leader of the group, about the new composition, to which the president of the Slovak Ice Hockey Association, Miroslav Šatan, also commented on the form of the anthem.
“When we discussed the song (at the union), Mr. Šatan thought it would be appropriate for it to contain the typical sound of Slovakia. That’s when we all asked ourselves what the typical sound of our country actually is. And we all immediately thought it was a hoax. We were pleased that we agreed on this right away. And so we incorporated the sound of the fujara into the song,” the website cas.sk quotes Ďurinda.
The Slovak rockers also created a thirty-second goal version, which also includes a fujara and chanting from the fans.
The website pravda.sk reminds that of the earlier thematically related creations, the composition Nech Bože dá, released in 2001 by Milan Špaňo, is probably the most popular in Slovakia.
“Now a heavy caliber goes to the market with the skin, which Tublatanka undoubtedly is,” adds the website.
