Artificial intelligence is practically everywhere today. The latest technology trend, which was started by ChatGPT last year, is still gaining momentum, and who can’t boast of the magic letters AI on their product or service, as if they didn’t even exist. Areas where the latest trends penetrate a bit more slowly, such as accessories for computers and laptops, are no exception. Although Logitech bills itself as a relatively progressive company, this is probably not what anyone expected from it.

Do we need a dedicated AI mouse button?

The Swiss company has produced a rather unconventional mouse that boasts a dedicated button for launching ChatGPT generative artificial intelligence. It’s no big surprise that Logitech has decided to cash in on the AI ​​craze – the AI ​​launch button has replaced the DPI switch on its latest mouse, which almost nobody uses anyway.

On M750 Signature mice, when you click the new button just below the scroll wheel, the Logi AI Prompt Builder overlay will open over whatever you’re doing. In other words, it is a single button that performs a preset, relatively complex action that would otherwise require several or more keystrokes. From the user’s point of view, an “old” mouse (it is a successor to the canceled M750 mouse) can save you a lot of time if you use artificial intelligence every day.

On the other hand, many other mice, including those from Logitech, are able to set their own macro on a button today – it is the Swiss company that, through its Logi Options+ software, allows you to set the function of almost every button depending on the application you are currently in. Unfortunately, the mouse is currently not available in the Czech Republic, but it is sold abroad for $50 (approx. CZK 1,500 including tax), which is quite a lot for an ordinary office mouse. Its predecessor without an AI button, the Logitech M650, is sold in domestic stores for approximately one thousand. Whether a dedicated AI button in mice makes sense, however, will have to be decided by the market.
