He peeked into the national team. Now Cohla is looking for the lost appetite for football in Junior

--

In the penultimate round, Cohla contributed a hat-trick to the demolition of Lovosic with a ratio of 5:0, he had already scored seven goals in the spring. Last weekend Junior won 2:1 on the ground of dangerous Dušník and still holds the second place in class IA.

You beat Lovosice 5-0 in the last home match. How did you see the whole match?
The match was quite calm, we were helped by a goal in the 2nd minute. Then we added another right before halftime, which I think opened the hunting backdoor a little bit. I’m glad that we were able to dominate the whole match, even though we finished with ten players sent off.

You scored a hat trick. Which goal was the best?
Well, these goals weren’t exactly pretty, but the first one was probably the nicest. I took advantage of the Lovosic stopper’s hesitation when he wanted to let the ball go into the car. However, I stretched around him and took advantage of the goalkeeper’s poor position from an angle.

Do you have a club cashier? Did you pay her anything for your shooting feat?
Of course, we manage the club cash register. It will cost me a few hundred, I already have it written down there. That was also the reason why no one objected to me going to kick the penalty, thanks to which the hat trick came.

You are in second place in the I. A class, you have not lost yet in the spring. The goal is progress. Do you think you can still catch up with the first Dobroměřice?
Our goal is progress, that’s clear. Of course, it would be nice to win the whole competition, but Dobroměřice have a strong and experienced team, which I think will not let such a lead slip away. We know that the process should be in our hands, so we try not to look around.

Do you follow the scoreboard of your competition somehow?
I don’t follow the scorer’s table completely, because I only joined this competition in the winter. I only know that Pavel Exner from Dobroměřice is there. I also know how many goals I still lack on my teammates.

How did you even get started with football? how old were you
I started playing football in our village of Kámen. I only started playing it organized when I was eight or nine years old for Union Děčín.

Where else have you played?
As I mentioned, I started in Union Děčín, then I spent a year in Junior Děčín, from where they took me to U13 in Teplice. I played there until the end of the U19. I also played a few minutes for the youth national team. I played adult football for a year and a half for Ústí B in the regional championship, from where I came back to Děčín in the winter. I can’t say that I remember any team badly, now I’m happy in Děčín, I was also happy in Ústí, but I probably remember the times in Teplice and the boys from Teplice the best.

Junior even stepped on the leader. Will he try another chase?

Do you have any memories of your first training sessions?
Certainly. I remember that I started in the winter, so we trained in the school gym in Bynov. I also remember how we played soccer on the floorball goals or how we did strength training. I still remember how much my legs hurt after the first training session. I’m surprised how much I remember after so many years.

How is it training for you under Petr Voříšek, the European under-21 champion?
The workouts are great. For one thing, they are well built and have intensity and quality. Petr mainly has a feeling for when he can load us up and when, on the contrary, it is good to take a little less. I think we benefit a lot from the way he prepared us for the spring part of the competition over the winter. At the same time, he talks to us a lot, tries to keep us on the wave, but at the same time with our feet on the ground.

So you are happy in Děčín, right?
I am happy here, football has absorbed me again and fills me again. I think this is what I’ve been missing for a while. It’s close to me, I’m at home, we’re doing well and I’ve finally started doing well myself. In addition, a great team has been built here, full of players who could play football at higher levels. In addition to that, there is an incredible group, cabin, coaches, but also boys who come to support us and go to away matches. I really appreciate that, it’s nice, they are our twelfth player.

You are still a very young player. What are your current football dreams and goals?
I set as a goal that I want to help the team as much as possible to advance to the regional championship. If I take purely personal goals, I would like to play a higher competition. For the spring part, I set myself the goal of scoring twelve goals. But the main thing for me is that I enjoy football again. I had a period when it wasn’t like that at all. I was dealing with other things in life and football went a bit by the wayside.

Šmalcl came to Děčín to visit his brother, he wants to win. Why did he leave Dobkovice?

Do you support Sparta or Slavia?
I’m more partial to Sparta, but I wouldn’t say I’m an outright fan. In the league, I support Teplice the most, for which several of my former teammates and friends play.

Can you tell the readers what you do for a living and what else do you enjoy besides football?
I am employed at the club, I am in charge of the pitch and other things. I also train younger players here. When there is time and need, I still help my father with work in the forest. I like to play League of Legends with my friends, ride my bike, go jogging or walking with our dogs, or write simple poems like that.
