The cards from the TUF series have a monstrous and spartan appearance on the outside, but underneath it usually hides graphics with a smooth expression that few other products on the market can offer. This also applies to the TUF Radeon RX 7700 XT.

With the launch of the RX 7700 XT, I discussed that it doesn’t make sense why the roughly 17% slower RX 7700 XT only has a ten percent lower price tag than the RX 7800 XT. In terms of price/performance ratio, the cheaper model fared worse than the more expensive and better equipped RX 7800 XT, which is not usual.

Nvidia has since introduced the new RTX 40 Super series, with which it has noticeably improved the price/performance ratio of GeForce, and AMD has responded by lowering prices. In general, it can be said that the Radeon RX 7700 XT has already distanced itself from the RX 7800 XT. Even TUF RX 7800 XT, despite the worse exchange rate since the review, has become cheaper from 16,000 to under 15,000. Unfortunately, the price of the TUF RX 7700 XT did not go down much, so it is currently practically the most expensive Radeon RX 7700 XT sold in our country. You can buy the similarly designed rival Nitro+ RX 7700 XT from Sapphire for eleven thousand.

From the point of view of the price/performance ratio, the TUF RX 7700 XT is currently significantly worse both against the TUF RX 7800 XT from its own stable and against the competing Radeon RX 7700 XT. In order to offer a similar price/performance ratio as the TUF RX 7800 XT, its price would have to drop somewhere around 12,500 crowns. I wouldn’t look for anything other than that Asus forgot to discount the TUF RX 7700 XT, the price can change at any time either with a new delivery or with a revaluation.

What does not change from day to day are the characteristics and equipment of the card, which, as is usual with the last generations of TUFs, is top-notch. The brutal cooler will keep the 250W card chip even with fan speeds at low values of around 1100 rpm just above 60 °C.

In terms of cooler noise, it ranks among the quietest cards that can be purchased today. The coils aren’t completely silent, but they are quieter than most (more powerful) cards. Paradoxically, it’s more because the cooler is so quiet, being a bit louder, you probably won’t hear them anymore.

In terms of construction, equipment and operational features, the card can only be raved about, other RX 7700 XTs won’t offer you a similar mix of features, but the extra charge for it is currently brutal, so if a card like this appeals to you, really consider not paying for TUF RX 7800 XT.

Asus TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7700 XT OC Edition 12GB, 12GB
PROS CONS
High performance for gaming in 1080p resolution, enough for 1440p as well A significant premium over the basic models
In quiet mode, the cooler is extremely quiet, the coils are heard less than on more powerful cards Consumption close to RTX 4070 Ti at significantly lower performance
Extremely oversized cooler with a large margin Currently only slightly cheaper than the TUF RX 7800 XT, in terms of the price/performance ratio, a much worse buy
Significantly faster than the RTX 4060 Ti

Approximate price including VAT: CZK 13,350

Verdict

With a slightly higher consumption of Radeons, the top cooler of the Radeon RX 7700 XT from the TUF series from Asus can handle the left rear. The card is quiet, the temperatures are low, the cooler reserve is extreme. But it won’t be free, every fun costs something and the surcharge compared to basic models is high.
