/VIDEO/ Basketball coach Raoul Korner experienced terrifying moments that hardly anyone would envy. He works for the Taiwanese basketball club Tainan Ghosthawks. And Taiwan was hit by a devastating earthquake. Despite his fear, the Austrian coach decided to film the situation and shared his experiences on social networks.

Those shots are literally chilling. The club Korner currently works for has the word “ghost” in its name, which translates to “ghost”. And the footage of the 50-year-old may seem like something from a ghost horror movie basketball coach bought.

“For a Viennese (fortunately) it is not unusual to be woken up by an earthquake in the morning. The fact that I live on the 24th floor doesn’t help much,” Korner admitted in the caption of the footage of him walking through his apartment, where a glass chandelier is being tossed about by the natural disaster with a loud crack and an ominous crackling and creaking sound echoes through the building.

Korner survived the unenviable moment unscathed. But many were not so lucky. Authorities say nine dead and dozens missing. Over a thousand people were then injured.

But rescuers are still working and the number of people who need medical help is increasing. Dozens of workers were trapped in quarries and some residents tried to escape by climbing out of the windows of damaged buildings.

The earthquake was centered near the port of Hualien on the east coast of Taiwan. At the site, some buildings were leaning because their ground floors were completely crushed. In the Taiwanese capital, Taipei, 150 kilometers away, tiles fell from older buildings and schools evacuated students equipped with helmets. The tremors hit the entire island and destroyed many buildings.
