Rishabh Pant’s onslaught over Mohit Sharma in the final over, lifts DC to 224.
After losing successive wickets within the powerplay, it was Axar Patel and Rishabh Pant who showcased some phenomenal batting and instilled confidence in DC marching towards such a big total. DC shocked everyone by sending Axar at number 3, but the surprise made a happy one which saw the all-rounder getting his best ever score in IPL with his 66 (43) knock.
Rishabh Pant has yet again silenced his critics from the SRH clash, and that too in quite some phenomenal style with his unbeaten 88 (43) knock. Pant received healthy support from Tristan Stubbs during the death overs, but needed none for his last over heroics where he clinched 31 runs.
GT bowlers started off well in this match, but failed to carry consistency during the death overs. Sandeep Warrier was the sole most brilliant bowler for GT with his 3/15 figures in his 3 overs, which further raises the question of why he wasn’t brought back for the final over. In the last 5 overs, GT leaked more than 90 runs, which might cause it to haunt them.
