If it were only one day with a high risk of failure, it can be done with the help of sales. The current conditions are difficult to overcome any season of vegetation, if it cannot be brought under control within hours, according to a climatologist from the state of research of global change of the Academy of Sciences.

In such a situation, we could fly like we did two years ago in the Czech Republic National Park.

We have to be extra careful. Although vegetation is not a serious problem at the beginning of spring, we monitor biomass that is dry at 120 stations in the forest stand. Branches and leaves that have moisture suitable for the feet. We are at the highest level of risk due to the suitability of the weather for women, i.e. relatively strong wind, low humidity and unusually high temperature, to Trnka.

I am talking in particular about the areas of the other, central and western Czechs, the Highlands and, on the other hand, Moravia. Where exactly can you visit the firerisk.cz portal.

From the data of the Intersucho project, vyplv and his co-creator Trnka confirm that we are relatively far from the two norm of moisture content in soil. The current state of drought is known to be brought on by winter.

Usually, at the beginning of spring, a large amount of water melted from the snow, which ran off the surface, mostly soaked into the soil, and we started the year with a fully saturated southern horizon, this did not happen to us. At the same time, the vegetation began to leaf out unusually early. Also, we saw a situation that we usually observe in April. At that time, the vegetation is roughly a month ahead, explains Trnka.

Miroslav Trnka

Bioclimatologist, since 2010 head of the Department Impact of climate change on agrosystems of the state of global change of the Academy of Sciences.

The impact of climate change on field crops is discussed in five models.

He studied engineering at the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno, where he also obtained a doctorate. In addition, he graduated first at Masaryk University.

He is a laureate of the UN Climate Change Communication Award. Stand for the projects Intersucho, Firerisk.cz, Agrorisk.cz, Climrisk.cz

Due to the growth of plants and trees that take up water that does not accumulate in the form of snow on the mountains and flows through the landscape, we are again below the values of the moisture content in the soil from 60 years ago. It was the lack of snow that caused the leaves and branches that were attacked last year to be protected and dry out easily.

Until 2019, there was an eighty episode of drought, after which the average flood levels decreased, when the underground water resources were replenished on the ground. At the turn of 2024, we see that despite the time saturated deep layer, we are returning to a relatively massive anomaly of the humidity day. In Europe, it affects the interior of the Balkan Peninsula and hundreds of other Poland, Germany, Austria and the whole of Czechoslovakia, Trnka describes.

The biggest problem for him is that a drought of this type so soon after the growing season does not know anything good.
