Nashville wants to return to Bridgestone Arena for a Game 6, but it will require a win Tuesday.

The Canucks lead the series 3-1. Follow our live score and game updates here, with puck drop scheduled for just after 9 pm CT Tuesday.

ABOUT GAME 4: For Colton Sissons, Predators-Canucks Game 5 about ‘anger and disappointment’ after empty-net miss

Nashville Predators live score updates vs. Vancouver Canucks in Game 5 NHL playoffs

3rd period

Nikita Zadorov skates from blue line-to-blue line with the puck, makes a couple moves to shake a couple Predators skaters before going top-shelf over Juuse Saros from an odd, tight angle to open the scoring.

That’s a tough one to allow. 1-0, Vancouver.

2nd period

Ian Cole is whistled for high-sticking Filip Forsberg, but the ensuing power play garners no shots on goal for Nashville. It did appear that Tyson Barrie got caught in the face by a stick early in the power play, but no call.

0-0 after 40 minutes. Predators lead the shots total, 15-11. Been an interesting game, but as a certain goaltender said in a recent national advertisement — No goals.

After an Anthony Beauvillier penalty, the Predators penalty kill neutralizes Vancouver’s first power play of the game. Very strong sequence, highlighted by a Kiefer Sherwood shorthanded chance that clangs off the post.

Still 0-0. Preds back on the kill after a Ryan McDonough cross-checking penalty with about six minutes left in the period.

Juuse Saros nearly drifted too far out of the net, sprawling in trying to stop a Canucks rush. Vancouver can’t corral the puck before Saros gets back into the net. Soon after, he makes this save.

1st period

The two notable highlights of the Predators’ power play late in the first period were a shorthanded opportunity for the Canucks’ penalty kill and a JT Miller breakaway chance after leaving the penalty box once it ended. In between was a handful of unsuccessful entries by the Preds’ power play. Nashville is now 1-of-16 on the power play in this series.

0-0 after one period. Vancouver was fairly dominant in the first eight minutes, but Juuse Saros held up. The game tilted back evenly after until the Preds’ power play. Miller created another Grade A chance just before the end of the period, but Saros made the save. Vancouver leads the shot total 8-4.

Canucks forward Pius Suter was hit in the face by a shot in front of Juuse Saros and goes straight to the Vancouver locker room.

Game 5 is underway

Nashville-Vancouver is underway at Rogers Arena.

The Predators say Luke Schenn is out of the lineup in Game 5 with an illness. Tyson Barrie draws into the lineup.

The forwards remain unchanged.

Arturs Silovs is again in net for Vancouver for Game 5. This will be his second straight start with Casey DeSmith sidelined for an undisclosed reason. This will be the Canucks’ third different starting goaltender in three home playoff games in this series.
