Luděk Munzar has struggled with peptic ulcers since the 1960s, and in the 1990s he lost one kidney due to a tumor. He was later diagnosed with prostate cancer. His heart warned him of a mild heart attack, so he was operated on. He also suffered from severe joint pain.

In 2013, he underwent further procedures. But what broke him the most was the illness of his beloved wife. Jana Hlaváčová had to give up acting after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2011…

The woman, who was always full of energy and zest for life, could not cope with the progression of the disease and unfortunately succumbed to deep depression. But both stood faithfully side by side…

Luděk Munzar did not wish for a grave, so his ashes are scattered on the scattering meadow of the Zbraslav cemetery. He lived life to the fullest and was also known for his modesty and humility, and his passing was in line with his ideas of dignity.
