Private car on the roof. An accident involving several cars blocked the Prague Ring Road in both directions

Due to an accident with several cars near the Ruzyne airport, the Prague ring road from Karlovarská to Evropska street is closed in both directions, the police informed. Firefighters had to extricate an injured person from one crashed car. Paramedics treated two injured people, one of them suffered serious injuries. Due to the investigation of the accident and the elimination of the consequences, the traffic on the road will be restricted to varying degrees for another two hours, police spokeswoman Eva Kropáčová said around 5:15 p.m.

The accident happened on the 27th kilometer of the Prague Ring Road. According to the police, several trucks and cars crashed.

Prague firefighters said they were responding to an accident involving two cars. They freed an injured person from one car, who was handed over to the rescuers. Airport firefighters are also on the scene, Prague Airport said.

The young man suffered serious injuries in the accident. Paramedics put him into artificial sleep and airlifted him to a trauma center. “The second injured person was a woman with a head injury, she was transported conscious,” said emergency service spokeswoman Jana Poštová.
