He was a real dude, and that lasted even during the era of the band Wanastowi Vjecy. What does the idol look like today? He gained a lot of weight, even so that you wouldn’t recognize him on the street.
Robert Cody belongs to the important faces of Czech rock. He was at the origin of legendary bands Lucy and Wanastowi Vjecy. And during his career, which was abundantly paved with all the comforts of a star’s life, he changed a lot on the outside as well.

Rock singer, composer, lyricist and guitarist Robert Kodym was born on February 20, 1967 in Prague. In his heyday, he was the idol of many women.
His charisma and talent put him almost immediately at the top of the Czech music scene, from where he influenced the trends and musical and, indeed, the fashion taste of an entire generation.
But what was his life and music story, and where did the long-haired and worn-out poster idol go?
Robert Kodym recently celebrated his 57th birthday. The voice of hits A collection of wilted roses whose Angels sounded and still sounds in the ears of fans for several decades, but the appearance of this charismatic handsome man has changed a lot.
“Sex, drugs and rock’n’roll” were certainly to blame, and in Kodym’s case, above all, alcohol, which he repeatedly succumbed to.

His partners were well-known personalities of the Czech show business, as a model Jaroslava Rytychováan actress Linda Rybova and later Zuzana Tokárováwith whom he entered into marriage and with whom he has a daughter Amelia Anna.
Robert is also known for his love of history and traditions. This is also proven by the fact that he is the owner of the Bečváry castle near Kolín, which he is enthusiastically renovating. And his monarchist views weigh in with that.
Robert Kodym does not hide his wish for the restoration of the Czech monarchy, which he also sang in some songs, for example Where is the Czech king? Kodym therefore perceives the presidential function as insufficient for a state-building character, in contrast to the symbolism of the monarchy, which he sees in the examples of Great Britain and Spain.
A unique guitarist and musician
In the music world, Robert Kodym maintains a reputation as a great guitarist. In addition, he also collects guitars. In his collection, he has several valuable pieces from various manufacturers, such as Gibson, Fender, Gretsch or the Czech brand Vivian.
A change in physical appearance
Currently, Kodym devotes himself not only to music, but also to his health, healthy lifestyle, sports and well-being. And this is definitely a complete extreme to how he lived before.
It was his love and passion for alcohol that brought him repeatedly to treatment in 2022. And there he finally woke up.
His recent alcohol addiction treatment finally shows his quest for a lifestyle change and a new direction in his personal development. But his appearance is different. He gained weight and looks completely different. But he intends to change that too. As he let himself be heard a few months ago:
“We found out that we would be playing in Strahov two weeks before the concert. I was like, damn, I’ve somehow gained a few pounds. So I called PB Ch. and he advised me where he bought a fantastic exercise bike. I immediately went there, piled him into a taxi, bought ampoules with carnitine for burning fat and told myself that everyone would be watching how I would be in shape. It worked and I was running around the giant stag like a ferret. Yes, it’s good to be prepared” Kodym added. “I have a treadmill at home today, I do aerobic walking. I recommend to everyone, 6 km per hour every day for as long as possible,” confided to Kody his recipe for being fit.
He’s no longer the soft-faced tough guy who took girls so seriously. But he will probably get back into shape soon…
