Czech strongman Jiří “Český lev” Tkadlčík added another success to his strength stock. He won second place at the SCL Association European Strongman Championship in the weight category up to 105 kilograms in Hungary. The first big race he opened the season with. After adding up the points, the Czech strongman won the silver position.
“A medal from the European Championship, World Championship or World Cup is a success. I am satisfied, Europe was a preparatory race for me for the world, which will be this year’s highlight. This year I would like to end the season quite early, and devote myself to the development of strength in ways other than heavy training, which will shoot the nerve to the moon, so it will be an intense season. The Czech strongman has completed his first event. In five weeks, the World Championship starts in Finland. “The Hungarian race was a preparation, it was for two days. It was very demanding, but I enjoyed it,” recapitulated Tkadlčík, who not only fought with opponents, but also with the weather.
“The race was completely different every day. The first day it rained, it was disgusting, so it was slippery. The second day it was hot again. What I like about strongman races is that you have to be ready for everything. I gave it my all,” recalled Tkadlčík, who fought for the gold until the last moments.
“We fought with the Pole until the last discipline, it was not known who would win, then I lost a bit unluckily, I hesitated and I have second place from the European Championship.”
How far, how close was the gold, the top step? “Millimetres were missing. In five weeks I will start at the world championships in Finland, there I will not leave that point and a half to anyone,” promised the silver strongman from Europe, who wants to be gold in the world.
