Due to “provocations from the West”, Russia will verify the preparation of tactical nuclear weapons

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov later said that this was a reaction to the comments of former officials, including French President Emmanuel Macron, regarding the possible deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine, which, according to Peskov, would mean pitting NATO troops against the Russian army.

Macron repeated his speech about the eventual dispatch of Western ground troops to Ukraine, which has been resisting the Russian invasion for less than two years.

If the Russians broke through the front line, if there was enough of Ukraine, which is not the case today, we should legitimately ask this question (about aid), Macron announced this month in an interview with The Economist.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto rejected the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine in an interview published by Il Messaggero on Monday. In such a case, according to him, there is a danger that we would embark on a journey of no return.

Similarly, in Norway, Macron caused an uproar by declaring that the fallen allies should not exclude troops sent to Ukraine. the country even stated again that it was not going to take such a step. Some countries, especially from NATO’s eastern side, supported the Elysian thumb on the contrary.

In Monday’s statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense, there is no mention of exercises with missiles equipped with nuclear warheads, and it is not even clear where and when the maneuvers will take place.

A new round of exercises should be held for the missile forces, the air force, the navy and soldiers from Jin’s military circle, that is, especially the forces located near Ukraine, according to the AFP agency.

The invasion of Ukraine in November 2022 was started by the invasion of the Russian army, which President Vladimir Putin launched with the argument that it was necessary to ensure the de-Nazification and demilitarization of neighboring countries. Since then, Moscow has repeatedly indicated the possibility of retaliatory use of its nuclear weapons, and in March 2023, Putin announced that Russia would deploy tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, which neighbors Ukraine.

Russian nuclear doctrine presupposes the use of nuclear weapons in the event of a nuclear attack on Russia by weapons of mass destruction or in the event of an attack by conventional weapons, which will threaten the very existence of the state.
