“Already after the appointment of Gabriela Lefenda as director of the Ostrava Television Studio by the CT Council, I stated that I consider her to be an excellent professional and I am very happy that I will now be working with her within the top management of Czech Television. The director has many years of experience, TSO is certainly not unknown to her, so I believe that she will now use all her knowledge and the already mentioned experience for the development of Czech Television across the entire region,” said Jan Souček, CEO of Czech Television, upon the inauguration of Gabriela Lefend.

She led the news editorial team for five years. In recent years, she worked as a member of the board of directors of the AGEL Foundation, and also worked as director of external relations in this healthcare group. She graduated with a master’s degree in Czech language and literature at the University of Ostrava, where she subsequently obtained a doctorate in Czech language didactics.

“I am very happy to return to the people I know, from whom I have learned and who have shaped my entire career. Leading the Ostrava TV studio is a big challenge for me, but at the same time something I approach with great humility. In the coming days, I would like to gradually meet with all my colleagues in order to better perceive their needs and what I can help them with in my role. I would like to hear as much as possible about the Ostrava studio and all the programs it produces – in short, so that viewers know that, for example, their favorite crime drama or documentary was created in Ostrava,” says the new director of TS Ostrava, Gabriela Lefenda, about her plans.
