Moyes will end up at West Ham. Soucek and Coufal will have a new coach

--

Moyes was in charge of West Ham for the first time for seven months in 2017/18, when he helped the team to Premier League survival. But then he was replaced by Manuel Pellegrini. The former coach of Everton and Manchester United returned to the bench of the “Hammers” after the departure of the Chilean coach in December 2019.

In January 2020, Moyes initially brought midfielder Souček from Slavia on loan, who joined the team’s support team, and in July his transfer turned into a transfer. In October, the native of Glasgow bought another Slavist footballer, the full-back Coufal.

Moyes led West Ham to victory in the Europa Conference League last year. In the final in Prague’s Eden, his team defeated Fiorentina and won the club’s first major trophy in 43 years.

This season is not going well for the club, whose co-owner is the Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský. They were recently knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Europa League with Leverkusen, and West Ham are ninth in the English league.

Sixty-one-year-old Moyes has coached 695 games in the Premier League so far and is third on the all-time charts behind Arsene Wenger (828) and Alex Ferguson (810).

“I have enjoyed a great four and a half years at West Ham and the club is better than when I returned in 2019. When I started here for the second time, it was a place above the relegation zone and then to reach the European Cups three times was fantastic. Thanks to all the players for the support and the success we have achieved,” said Moyes. However, his team won only one of the last ten competitive matches.
