Pavel Patera – 4x gold from the WC

He won the Czech, Russian and Swedish leagues, triumphed at the Olympics and won the world championship four times. The list of hockey achievements of Pavel Patera is impressive. He won his first gold from the world championship under the guidance of coach Luďek Bukač in Vienna in 1996 and after his success in Nagano he was one of the architects of the so-called “golden hat trick”, i.e. wins at tournaments in Norway, Russia and Germany between 1999 and 2001.

Chosen and exceptional. Only these 11 Czechs rejoiced at the title of champion in the Swedish hockey league

However, the excellent recordist did not make a name for itself overseas. At the age of 29, he left for Dallas, for which he played twelve games in the 1999/2000 season and collected five points. The next year he added twenty starts for Minnesota and then returned to Europe.

Like Pavel Patera, Martin Procházka is also a Kladno resident and shared most of his sporting successes with his partner on the national team. Together, they dazzled for the first time at the championship in Vienna in 1996, where Procházka took care of the legendary final shot into Canada’s net. Subsequently, he was at the trump card in Nagano and participated in the “golden hat trick”.

Like Martin Procházka and Pavel Patera, František Kaberle is also a pupil of Kladno hockey. And like them, he enjoyed a gold medal at the world championships in 1996, 1999, 2000 and 2001. Unlike them, however, he is not an Olympic champion, but he has one more gold plate from the world championship, when he triumphed in 2005 in Austria .

His career in the NHL was also more successful. He started in Los Angeles, he was a support of Atlanta for a long time and from the 2005/06 season he played in Carolina, which also won the Stanley Cup thanks to his goal in the seventh final game. The premier year in the Hurricanes jersey was not the best for him just because of winning the most valuable trophy, but also from an individual point of view. It was the only season in which he managed to exceed 40 points in the regular season, when he scored six goals and recorded 38 assists in 77 games. In the playoffs, he added another 13 points (4+9) in 25 games.
