American number two and world number three “CasKILLA” Jessica McCASKILL (12-3-1, 5 KOs) and undefeated British number three and world number seven Lauren PRICE (6-0-0, 1 KO) will face off in a ten-round battle for the WBA world titles and IBO!
Thirty-nine-year-old reigning champion Jessica McCaskill unified all the belts in the welterweight division two years ago when she was able to see off Mexican champion Alma Ibarra in three rounds. She subsequently jumped up to super lightweight, but was not enough for champion Chantelle Cameron and lost on points.
Last year, she defended all four belts in welterweight with a draw with British boxer Sandy Ryan. McCaskill subsequently lost the WBC and WBO titles because she did not want a mandatory defense, so she will only defend the remaining two WBA and IBO titles on Saturday. Twenty-nine-year-old Briton Lauren Price stands in her way.
Last year, Price won the BBBofC British title by defeating compatriot Kirstie Bavington. The fight with McCaskill will clearly be the toughest fight of her professional career so far and it will be a fight of truth. Even so, the Olympic winner from Tokyo (2020) and the amateur world champion from Russia (2019) is a big favorite on home soil.
