Apple announced the date of the planned keynote, this time with the title “Let loose”. There has been speculation about the event for several weeks, and it must be said at the outset that its date is very unusual.
The event will take place on Tuesday 7th May at 16:00 our time. On the one hand, it is an unusually early time for the company, especially considering the time difference, when it will only be 7 in the morning in the US. And secondly, May itself is almost new for Apple, because the last time it held an event in May was in 1999, otherwise it always kept everything exclusively until June with WWDC.

Despite the peculiarities, the main novelty of the forthcoming keynote is quite clear and follows from the graphics of the invitation itself. It will be the expected iPad Pro with new Apple M3 chipsets. The tablets will have an OLED display and thinner frames. An iPad Air with an M2 chipset is also expected, and for the first time ever we could see the Air in a 12.9″ size. Both the iPad Pro and Air should finally bring the FaceID camera on the longer side for more natural use in landscape orientation of the tablet.
There is also talk of a new Apple Pencil, the introduction of which is hinted at in the graphics of the invitation. It is expected to offer some new “squeeze” gesture with possible visionOS support for smart glasses. It goes without saying that other accessories for tablets, such as protective covers and keyboards, will also be introduced.
On the contrary, the launch of the 4th generation iPhone SE is significantly less likely. Here we are cautious with the prediction, because on the one hand, there are significant changes in the global smartphone market, and after all, even Apple might need to react somehow, however, most speculations have so far assumed the introduction of the “cheap” iPhone SE 4th generation until 2025.
