The tragic course of the entire Saturday accident on the D1 highway in the direction of Poland began to spread on the Ostrava Facebook group. The 16-second clip shows a tractor-trailer carrying a tank in the right lane together with a passenger car, which the truck crashed into a few seconds later. The accident in the Karvinska region occurred on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in the morning hours on the D1 highway at kilometer 376.5 in the direction of Poland. The highway was closed all day, traffic was only restored in the evening. The driver of the passenger vehicle did not survive the impact, the passenger was airlifted to hospital by helicopter.
