Forex: The Czech koruna strengthened by a penny against the euro and the dollar today

The US dollar is weakening against a basket of major currencies today. Investors are now waiting for the outcome of the two-day meeting of the US central bank (Fed), which ends on Wednesday. The Czech koruna strengthened slightly today compared to Monday’s close. Against the euro, it improved by two pennies to EUR/CZK 25.34. It then strengthened against the dollar by four pennies, trading at 23.30 USD/CZK at 17:00. The Czech currency hardly reacted to the published data on average wages in the fourth quarter of last year, even though the market had expected a slight decrease in them. After accounting for inflation, wages decreased by 1.2 percent year-on-year in real terms, the Czech Statistical Office reported today.
