At today’s press conference, Google presented not only the new Pixels with serial number 8, but also the Pixel Buds A wireless headphones. These are a more affordable variant of the full-fledged Pixel Buds Pro and, in addition to the lower price, they will also offer more conciliatory parameters, which are mainly aimed at less demanding listeners. The good news is that they will also be sold in the Czech Republic. What will they offer?

Wireless headphones for undemanding listeners

In terms of appearance, they are quite unobtrusive and based on Google’s design language from recent years. The dimensions of each earpiece are 20.7 x 29.3 x 17.5 millimeters, the charging case is then 63 x 47 x 25 millimeters. Each earphone weighs a pleasant 5 grams, the charging case stopped at 50 grams, while the total weight of the earphones and the case is around 63 grams.

The headphones also boast resistance to sweat and moisture straight from the factory, namely the IPX4 degree of protection against moisture according to the IEC 60529 standard. In terms of durability, the headphones themselves promise 5 hours of listening or up to 2.5 hours of talk time, while with the charging case you can achieve up to 24 hours of listening or up to 12 hours of talk time.

Fifteen minutes of charging the headphones in the charging case ensures up to 3 hours of listening or up to 1.5 hours of talk time. Charging takes place via the USB-C port. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.0, and for full access to the functions, you need to have a device with Android 6.0 and higher and Assistant activated.

Both earphones have capacitive touch sensors to control music, calls and Google Assistant, an infrared sensor to detect removing the earphone from the ear, a Hall sensor to notify when the case is opened and closed, or dual microphones with beamforming technology. The headphones also boast individually designed 12mm dynamic speakers, passive noise reduction, and an opening to equalize ear pressure and ensure ambient awareness. In the Czech Republic, they will be sold in black at a price of CZK 2,690.
