Priskeho’s coaching school: I follow the players on Instagram, Sparta was hurt for years without a title

the discussion with him was moderated by the former Czech basketball player Ji Welsch, and dozens of Czech coaches from various sports industries listened. Priske spoke about many topics, for example, about the stress of life, which he addressed as a trainer:

Sparta Slavia

on Saturday from 17:30 ONLINE

It is impossible to completely avoid it, you have to accept that there will be pressure. You have to prepare for the eyes of experts, fans and people. I don’t know the media, I don’t see a reason for it, I’m the only one who knows the truth. When you’re in Sparta, you have to win every battle. Meditation also helps me from stress, after which the state of my body and mind immediately improved.

What was he talking about?

On how he got into football: When you were young, you try to find out how you like sports. And in Denmark, football is one of the main ones, so I started playing it. I also played chess, but then I had to decide what to do next. And vt ve I ml for football.

About a handful of curry: I remember my time in Genk, Belgium, I felt at home there. The year spent in the Premier League was of course unreal, I met the best players. And the starts for the national team were also a great experience for me.

About the end of his active career at the age of 34: When I was riding slowly, one assistant asked me what I was going to do, if I was going to be a trainer. I told him that I definitely didn’t, that I needed a break and time with my family. Six months later, he called me that he would be the head coach of Midtjylland and that he wanted me as an assistant. And he drank. I knew that if we were to go to the castle, it had to be right on the top floor. I didn’t want to start from young players. This was a mistake, a big one, but the right decision.

About training idols: I don’t know how Guardiola, Mourinho or Ancelotti work and how they behave in the cabin, I only see the consequences. That’s why the main inspiration for me are the students who guided me and with whom I worked, because I could see how I was progressing.

About what he used to enjoy: Scoop out. The sense of urgency is real, and it’s one match or a title for the whole season. It motivates me that I can see how you are improving yourself. I feel great satisfaction when something, you Sparta, grows and we take the right steps.

On how to overcome stress: I’m not too far ahead. When we play Slavi, I don’t know who will play against Bank and how we will play, because then I would start to feel stressed and could make a bad decision. I’m trying to prepare for various tactical options that he can use. Maybe I need to change the formation or set up this and that game when Slavia did this and that.

About the relationship with hri: You have to be close to them to know what is going on in their lives, not just on the hiti. When everything is in trouble at home, they come smiling, when I suffer, it has a negative effect on me. I follow all the games on Instagram, not to check them, but to see what’s going on with them. When they go to a restaurant or travel somewhere, I want to talk to them about this too. We are just people, it’s nice to talk about other than just football.

About the first contact with Sparta: In Antwerp I got a crash and I was looking for a fuck. Suddenly, Tom Rosick called me and handed in my appointment. It was nothing from him, I didn’t expect that something like that could happen. But I had a good feeling about Sparta, I respected the club’s potential to win trophies again. When I talked with people in the management and fans, I saw that there was a long period without a title and they are hungry to take it again.

About the inner darkness: Sparta didn’t win the title for nine years, so they had a big win every year. But when she failed, people around the club doubted. I noticed this and first felt it when we lost to Viking Stavanger (in the second preliminary round of the Konferenn League in 2022). I realized that we need to focus on inner self-esteem. When you lose a big save, you have to stay with yourself. The cabin was divided, so was the implementation. We needed to connect, then we grew like darkness. Most of all, you will get away with it. When you win, it’s easy, but when you lose, your mindset needs to change, you have to focus on how to stick together.

On how to be a leader of darkness: Always get off in five minutes. Keep calm, don’t worry. Football has changed dramatically in the last ten years, it is faster, stronger. The cabin was two very tough, if you didn’t perform well, you almost killed all your friends and teammates. The two of us didn’t stop at two tons of beer either, if we were fully into it. Today, guys, don’t drink so much beer, and when you do, they can control it. And when they are able to thorn and perform actions, then there is a problem. We want the players to give their best, my job is to raise and support everyone, but at the same time have demands on them.

About Sparta sports editor Tom Rosick: He is calm, ready for all meetings. We are in contact almost every day, we share the same values. I heard that even in the first year of my engagement, people doubted the project of the foreign court, but he was loyal, he saw that we were taking the right steps. I worked hard to fight with the management to go over him, which is also due to the job of a coach.

About using data: They are an important tool for me when making decisions. In Spart, we have analysts who look at our and our opponents’ saves, then we put them in scouting, others monitor GPS data from the thorn. So I have a lot of data, but I’m looking for the ones that are relevant to my style of play. After each save, we have a big report and a comparison with other themes, but I can’t try everything, I have to choose only one.

On what he would advise other trainers: Be yourself, otherwise you won’t meet people. You have to accept the way you are, that not everyone will like you and you won’t get along with many. You have to be aware of the environment you are in. And work hard, there are no shortcuts.

About my coaching dream: I am always prepared for different situations, I give you things in my life that I have tried from the thorn, but I don’t have enough for my career. I have been in football for almost 30 years and I know that it is difficult to fulfill a given movement. When did you think that I would go to Liverpool, Manchester United or PSG, I would lose my coach on a bad day. If I do my work in time, maybe some other club will come, but until then I will have fun in Sparta.
