Prague, May 10, 2024 (PROTEXT) – The Prague boys’ choir Pueri gaudentes attended two festivals at the turn of April and May – the European Musical Festival for Young People and the Cornwall International Male Choral Festival.
On the 26th-29th On the 4th, a competition was held in Neerpelt, Belgium, from which the choir brought home gold bands from three categories. “The fact that we were interesting among 92 choirs was confirmed by the fact that we had the honor of starting the Happening show in front of 2500 participants,” choirmaster Libor Sládek recalls.
Shortly after his return, the boy had a trip to England (May 1-7). “We participated as the main guest of the festival. We have had 11 performances and at some of them we were honored with a standing ovation after individual songs. We have never experienced that before.” choirmaster Jan Kyjovský said.
The choir was founded in 1990 by Zdena Součková and since then has sung on three continents in 20 countries. This season he performed with Vojtěch Dyk, the Czech Philharmonic and the State Opera.
