A bus fell off a bridge in Africa. 45 dead, only an eight-year-old girl survived

45 people died in a tragic accident in Botswana. On Thursday, the bus they were traveling in fell from a height of about 50 meters from the bridge. This was reported by the Reuters agency with reference to the South African Ministry of Transport.

According to the BBC server, the only survivor of the accident was an eight-year-old girl who was taken to the hospital. The bus passengers were pilgrims traveling from the Botswanan capital Gabore to an Easter service in the town of Moria.

According to local media, the accident happened in Limpopo province in the northeast of the country. The Ministry of Transport said the bus driver lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons and crashed into the guardrails on the bridge. The bus then fell from the bridge to the ground, where it caught fire.

Rescue work at the scene of the accident continued well into the night. Some bodies are charred beyond recognition, others remain trapped in the wreckage of the car.
