The deputy speaker of the parliament for the ruling Slovak National Party then took a broom and started cleaning.
Danko ran into a traffic light in early January and fled the scene. He submitted to a breathalyzer test only 15 hours after the accident. He explained that he had broken a tooth in the impact and had to go to the dentist first. “He was questioned and breathalyzed, with a negative result,” police said the day after the accident.

Not only did Danko not resign from the position of deputy speaker of the parliament, but this year he even ran for president in the presidential elections, only to resign just before the first round in favor of Štefan Harabin, who then finished in third place and did not advance to the decisive second round.
