In theory, it should be very easy to find a lost mobile phone during the day. Both Apple and Google offer a function that helps locate a lost device. In the case of Apple, it is called Find My, in smartphones with the competing Android operating system we can find the Find My Device function.
In these applications, the user can see all the devices that are attached to his given platform and can be located relatively easily: his position is shown on the map, the device can be set to ring from the application, and the device can be locked remotely and left on its display to show the noise about the proposed primary owner. Locating a lost cell phone should essentially only be a matter of a few hundred seconds or minutes. This works very reliably if it is set correctly, the phone has data turned on and enough power in the battery. When any of this is not fulfilled, complications arise, as in our case.
