To be precise, the name of the novelty is formally Ferrari 12Cilindri, but the Italians would say “dodici cilindri”. And that means “twelve cylinders”. Yes, in Maranella was simply named after the number of cylinders of the new model’s power unit. It turns out that almost everything sounds good in Italian…
Of course, Ferrari claims that the name wants to celebrate the very presence of the twelve-cylinder under the front hood. Actually, we get it and we’re all ten for it. Nowadays, the use of a powerful V12 with a volume of 6.5 liters deserves recognition, especially in an atmospheric and especially non-electrified form – even if it appears in an exclusive and expensive car.
After all, the Italian carmaker admits that it had a lot of work to ensure that the engine met not only emission requirements, but above all noise limits. The acoustic performance of the exhaust had to fit within 72 dB. It will certainly sound great anyway.

What about performance? Ferrari claims a maximum 830bhp at – hold on – 9,250rpm! At the same time, the twelve-cylinder engine can spin up to 9,500 revolutions. The “torque” then reaches 678 Nm at 7,250 rpm. The engine is complemented by an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 12Cilindri accelerates from zero to one hundred in 2.9 seconds, from rest to 200 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 340 km/h. These numbers apply to the coupe, but an open Spider is also planned, which is a bit slower. It accelerates from rest to 200 km/h in 8.2 seconds.
Naturally, Ferrari has equipped the car with modern technology, which includes active aerodynamics, turning the wheels of the rear axle or brake-by-wire brakes. The interior is mainly impressive with the display for the passenger, but also notice the screen in the middle of the dashboard and the absence of a large number of buttons. This display will be used to control most onboard functions.

Ferrari gives a dry weight of 1,560 kilograms for the 4,733-millimetre-long 12-cylinder, and if you’re also interested in practicality, then know that the new model has a 270-liter luggage compartment.
The Italian automaker sells the new twelve-cylinder Ferrari at a price starting at 395,000 euros, which is about 9.9 million crowns. The open Spider is a bit more expensive, it costs at least 435,000 euros, i.e. roughly 10.8 million crowns.
