The British brand, which belongs to the German concern BMW, unveils a brand new Aceman model – a fully electric crossover. It is based on the concept of the same name, which the manufacturer introduced roughly in the middle of the year before last. It was supposed to indicate the future direction of the brand’s design language, and although it was already speculated that the final form of the car would be quite close to this enthusiastic study, few expected such a faithful transfer of most of the ideas.

The front part is dominated by drop-shaped headlights, protruding “above the surface” of the body. The front mask is decorated with a line that indicates the characteristic radiator grill – this element was supposed to be illuminated according to the original concept, but the rules of the European Union understandably do not allow this.

The body of the Aceman model is four-door, but the rear doors are slightly smaller than the front ones at first glance. The slightly flowing roof is reminiscent of its bigger sibling, the Countryman. At the back, we get a glimpse of the traditional contrast in the width of the lower and upper parts of the body. The rear lights with the Great Britain flag motif have a relatively conservative shape.

As early as 2022, it was rumored that the Mini Aceman would fill the gap between the Cooper and Countryman models, which with a length of 4075 mm, a width of 1754 mm and a height of 1495 mm corresponds. It loses 354 mm on its larger sibling, while the three-door hatchback has grown by 217. In the press release, the manufacturer repeatedly recalls the original idea of using space as efficiently as possible on the smallest possible surface and declares that transporting five people will not be a problem. However, the luggage space does not stand out in the given segment – the basic 300 liters can be increased to 1005 by folding the rear seats in a 60:40 ratio.

The new Mini design style “Charismatic Simplicity” is also reflected in the interior. This is basically the same for all three mentioned models – the centerpiece is the round central infotainment screen with OLED technology, which this time is not supplemented with a digital instrument panel, so that all driving information can be found right here (or on the head-up display). Below it is a panel with several mechanical buttons, among which there is a start/stop system (which you activate by turning the key-shaped switch), a direction selector, a drive mode selector and a media volume control. The pursuit of sustainability, minimalism and yet a certain playfulness permeates the entire cabin.

The novelty adopts most of the technology from the recently introduced electric Mini Cooper. Also in this case, two engines will be available – Aceman E and Aceman SE. The basic version of the E has a 135 kW electric motor, which provides a torque of 290 Nm, and this combination propels the hatchback to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The maximum speed is then 160 km/h. A battery with a capacity of 42.5 kWh can drive a single electric motor for approximately 310 kilometers, after which it will need to be recharged with a power of up to 75 kW.

The more expensive SE version has the lead in all respects. With a maximum power of 160 kW and a torque of 330 Nm, the stylish electric car can reach 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. It will accelerate up to 170 km/h. In combined operation, according to the WLTP standard, you should be able to travel up to 406 kilometers with the help of a 54.2kWh battery, which can be recharged with up to 85kW. Both engines have front-wheel drive.

The new Mini Aceman will go on sale in June this year and deliveries to the first customers will begin in October, with base prices for both versions already set. The basic Aceman E starts at a price of CZK 845,000, while the more powerful SE costs at least CZK 954,200.
