You are one of the leading manufacturers of fly traps in the world, how many will you produce every year?
In recent years, their production has exceeded 60 million pieces.
Where is the demand for them?
The demand is practically in all parts of the world where people are protected from insects. We will export the largest quantities to the United States and Russia, and now we are also exploring the African country of Zambia.
How are you doing on the Russian market?
We will not fall under these sanctions, but the corrupt people say that they have a lot of obstruction at the borders. So the payments are coming back. This will increase competition from those who do not have these skills. They may have better quality, but when the Russian order sees it with obstructions, it is convenient for him. This is how one important message first goes.
In Esk, the heat started unusually early this year, the flies are flying from the hole. Do you organize according to season and work? When do fly traps go on sale the most?
We have to prepare for the season even half a year in advance, so practically from now we start production of goods that will be made for storage and produced in a few months. The influence of time will be reflected in the demand for a similar product. Ninety percent of the production goes for export and the highest demand is in the first spring months, so that you can be on the shelves.
And what about other insects and children that can catch in your products?
The range of insect repellants is quite diverse, from ants, dog moths, wasps, rodents to snails and wasps. We strive not only to protect people, but also plants. And mechanical lapai, or glues and waxes. Uniktn is a spray adhesive for tree protection. Recently, a very different ant repellant preparation has become popular.

We keep the recipe specific to our machine. Their mechanics are original. It has a steel construction from the last century. To this day, many manufacturers would be happy to buy them from us.
How are they unique?

Do you collaborate with the producers on any research?
Both yes. Now, for example, on the project I will use glue traps to protect the eyes from spider mites.
Your products go from domestic to export, will you open one of the best examples when we have a weak crown?
What is weak crown? Its value is weak at the moment, not a year ago, but in the long term it has sent a lot, which has caused us a lot of sweat. Our closest competitors are companies in Poland that do not have these concerns.
In twenty-two years, Paprna Moudr has done a lot. In December 2016, a huge hole in the hall for fly traps. All the machines were shaved, the people without work, the code rose to 28 million. What was going through your head on New Year’s Day 2017?
At least as much as cadmium. If it makes sense to strive for the restoration of the works and what all will need to be done for it. Of course, if there will be enough financial resources for the reconstruction. In the end, my decision was supported by the employees, for whom this situation was not easy at all.
How did they support you?
Finally, the collective got together. They worked those shifts in difficult conditions, it was cold, we couldn’t heat. It also broke me down a lot mentally to put it together again. We still have minimal fluctuation. Don’t leave the company too much.
Do you have more men or women on staff?
Sing women. They are very manual.
What are you doing this year, in terms of innovation and sales?
I hope she finds sleep. As every year, we introduce a new product to the assortment. This time it’s about two preparations for ants in a gel version. Thus, we will continue our efforts to expand our products to the markets of Western Europe and Africa.
