Not yet in production, but already driveable: Sony’s electric car is coming to PlayStation

--

Gran Turismo 7 introduces a new April update. Along with the Škoda Vision Gran Turismo virtual concept, you can also try the American Chevrolet muscle car or the electric car developed by Sony in cooperation with Honda.

For over 25 years, the Gran Turismo racing game series has given car enthusiasts the chance to drive virtual modern sports cars and racers, vintage cars and concept cars based on real models on race tracks around the world. In the latest installment of the popular title for the Sony PlayStation 5 game console, you can also try out a new electric car that is yet to be produced.

With the latest free update 1.46, in Gran Turismo 7 you can drive the new electric car developed by the Japanese giant in the world of electrical appliances Sony in cooperation with the car manufacturer Honda in the warmth of your living room. It’s officially called the Afeela EV Sedan, and it made its debut at this year’s CES in Las Vegas.

The arrival of a future production electric car from Sony in the latest Gran Turismo 7 is perhaps not a surprise, since Sony is the publisher of game titles from the developer studio Polyphony Digital as well as the manufacturer of the PlayStation console. And you can now try it without having to worry about the maximum range or charging.

Even in virtual reality, the prototype of the electric car Afeela EV Sedan has a pair of electric motors with a combined output of 483 horsepower. It draws electrical energy from a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 91 kWh and can develop a maximum charging power of up to 150 kW when connected to a direct current charging station of the DC type.

Of course, you can also drive it with a realistic view from the cabin to enjoy a minimalistic interior with two large screens and an unconventionally shaped steering wheel without a crown top.

Along with the electric car Afeela EV Sedan, the new update in Gran Turismo 7 also features the legendary American muscle car Chevrolet Chevelle SS of the year 1970 and the futuristic virtual concept of the Škoda Vision Gran Turismo electric racing special. For the first time in history, our domestic brand Škoda also appears in the most famous racing simulator.
