Tuesday brought surprisingly good 1Q GDP data from Europe. Local inflation for April was also slightly higher, and the data together contributed to today’s increase in bond yields by roughly 5 bps. Data from overseas also contributed, namely a surprising acceleration in labor costs in 1Q. However, the Eurodollar has not moved anywhere as a result and is trading at 1.0715.
Today also brings a number of corporate results, which are currently the most important factor for the stock markets. In Europe, car companies Stellantis and Mercedes have disappointed, on the other hand, Paypal is doing well after the results. or roughly hold positions. As we reported in the morning, the key names are still waiting for us when AMD will report after the conclusion.
Meanwhile, the main stock indices are all in agreement on the decline, with some exceptions. The S&P500 loses 0.3 percent, the DAX is down 0.7 pct, while the FTSE100 rises slightly. Oil is heading downwards today and we see significant losses in gold. The Czech koruna moves at least at the current exchange rate of 25.17 per euro.
